Background and Experience

THE ROYAL NAVY & SHOW BUSINESS: After ten years of sweeping mines with the Royal Navy, George became a Butlin Redcoat and subsequently moved on to become Resident Compère on the Baileys Night Club circuit, working alongside such legendary names as Elton John, Tommy Cooper, Roy Orbison, Les Dawson, Bob Monkhouse, and many, many more.

GOLF: A keen golfer (18 handicap) and Captain Jester of the Comedians’ Golfing Society, George is also a member of the Vaudeville Golfing Society and his services are frequently in demand by the Variety Club Golf Society.

TRAVEL & LEISURE: George’s work has taken him abroad on the Thomson Gold Circuit and at home he has worked for Warners, Pontins, Butlins and Bourne Leisure.

STAGS & COMEDY CLUBS: In the heyday of the Stag Shows, George was, and still is, one of the top Stag comics in the country. There are few comedians who can span the years or cover the spectrum from the 70’s to the present day, working to such a great variety of audiences and even holding his own in the Comedy Clubs.

H.M. FORCES: He is in great demand with H.M. Forces, including the Special Forces, SBS, Paras, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Royal Artillery, R.E.M.E., Royal Corps of Signals (George was in fact a member of the Rapid Reaction Force sent to Aden in 1967). With the Royal Navy, George is of course a firm favourite and has given many performances on most shore establishments and ships of the fleet.
